We made some minor changes to the website this year, one of which was to register our domain as a source for email (thanks Stan Grishin, for letting us know this was possible). This should mean that fewer emails sent from the IPSCBC website should end up in spam folders.

Much of the work we did was behind the scenes work designed to help track number of DQ’s and new Black Badge success rates, although a great deal of work has also gone into providing tools for match directors.
IPSCBC is actively looking at Practiscore as an alternative to WinMSS. While Practiscore does offer its own registration system, it is unable to retrieve correct classifications from IPSCBC and represents a drastic change from the way that we have always handled registrations.

To facilitate the use of Practiscore, we have created a match registration utility, for match directors, that has been in trial use throughout the year. This mimics the registration system used by WinMSS, with the added advantage that match directors can export the information as a spreadsheet file. When needed, the system can generate appropriate files to be used by either WinMSS or Practiscore. In other words, registrations only need to be entered in once where, historically, they had been entered in 2 or even 3 times. The system offers the opportunity for growth and possible improvements for the future include real time lists of registered competitors for each match or online registration (with further requirements of payment before registration is confirmed and a spot reserved in the match).

Along with the registration utility, we are also now able to import stats generated in Practiscore to both our Match Results page as well as to our Stats system.

We have come to realize that the Forum rules, incorporated into our first incarnation of the forums, did not survive the transfer over to our current forums several years ago. A new set of forum rules has been developed and will be presented to the Board of Directors at the BoD meeting in the Fall for approval before it is incorporated into the website.
